Noodles and the lion.

Take one small ladies shirt from the charity shop, bought because of the line print of chinese lions and flowers. Add one small boy and it becomes a colour your own shirt, after mum has washed it and taken in the sides of course. So far one lion and a flower have been coloured but apparently there will be more!

Sunday stash

Today's stash is fabric which is currently made up, the stripe is a shirt and the flora is an Edwardian dress which really didn't suit me, sorry it's rather creased it's been in a bag for a while.. There is quite a lot of the floral and the design of dress means it is mostly still big panels. It is a very soft but well woven fabric so I'd like to make something more wearable with it and I keep seeing the two fabrics together and wondering if they will work together, if anything the colours are more similar in real life to the picture.

Editted to say --- the stripe is very similar to my crochet squares now i see them together on the screen.. I seem to be developing a colour theme!

Crochet

I have been doing some crochet though all be it very slowly.

I think I have one and a half squares I haven't posted as yet but I am well behind on the idea of doing several squares a month.
First off we have the Irish rose square. I really like the raised rose in the middle but the main part of the square seems to have come out rather bigger than the rest of the squares so it might get a couple of rows removed. I'm not deciding till I get to amking them all up into something though.
The other is the middle of waldo's rings. The rings are somewhat mind bending but I got there in the end with a little help! I need to finish the surround on this one though.

Sunday Stash

I thought I might join in the Sunday stash idea.. gives me an incentive to go through my stash if nothing else !

So first up one of my newest purchases but something I've been wanting for a bit. Two fabrics from the Sew much love range by Clothworks. I have 1/2m of the bigger pattern and a fat 1/4 of the pins. Not sure what they will become as yet, for now they are to gaze at and stroke !

There is a round up of other people's sunday stashes here.

Loose Teeth Vintage Inspired Sundress with Petticoat GUEST GIVEAWAY!!!!

Grosgrain is doing another wonderful guest giveaway this time for a lovely vintage style dress.

Loose Teeth Vintage Inspired Sundress with Petticoat GUEST GIVEAWAY!!!!

What I think is particularly wonderful is that she does her outfits custom size as standard. So often I look at something think how much I would like it and then I can't get it in my size. Even at my smallest I have been different proportions to the standard but if more people had her attitude and flare I might never have go into making my own stuff and now when my time is limited I am very willing to consider getting clothes from other makers when they have a selection of outfits as fun and pretty as hers are.

Miniture Art supplies

Made for a chose your own theme swap on a wonderful UK bases mini swap group. The recipient chose schoolroom and I tried to make the art supplies somewhat grubby and well used as most of those in schools seem to get that way two mins after they are bought.

making things

I have made a couple of things recently but in the main i have forgotten to take pictures !

I made a couple of sashes for a friend with an embroidered griffin on them which i hope to get pictures of later plus some big but basic cushions for the in laws for the back of a sofa in a friend's conservatory. I re-covered the rest of the set a while ago but the back cushion was to badly dieing to be re-made.

Finally I have made some miniatures which i will hopefully be able to show you in a few days when the recipient gets them.

New Bike

No not this one !

We went to Halfords and the bike shop a couple of doors down from them planning to look at bike for Noddles with a view to getting one as an early birthday present at the beginning of the summer holidays as his birthday is in August. We came out of the bike shop with a bike for him and a trailer for one of us to pull on our bike. The trainer can carry both boys if needed though we will have to see how hard that makes pulling it but it does mean we can go out on our bikes as a family or I can use it to get Treestump and/or bits and pieces up to the allotment as an alternative to walking there.

The bike in question has been named the Green Lantern bike due to it's colour and he has had a couple of sessions in the park learning to ride it as this is the first proper bike he has had. He is only just big enough for it but the next size down would have been grown out of very shortly. He met some friends of his who were riding their bikes without stabilisers but I think we have managed to explain why he has to learn in stages and will not manage to go from not riding to tearing around like them in one go. While he doesn't have it on in the pictures as he was going slowing and was in the park we have got him a helmet for when we progress to the road.

Starting slowly.
Getting more confident.
Treestump brought his trike along to join in.
After Treestump went off for a nap Noodles decided the trike, which was originally his would be fun to ride again! Though it was hard work up the slope !

A month in pictures

Stole the idea off Lucy at Attic24. Hers are very bright and cheerful and she made more than I did last month which wouldn't be difficult. I hope this month will be different on that score ie I will make more not that she makes less :)

Still I quite like mine and it's less effort that 365.

Photos

Noodles and I had to stop and take this picture as I drive a Smart car, though a grey one and we thought this was great with the matching blossom.

Plenty going on at the allotment.
helping with the compost
exploring
Gormites on patrol
DS in the shed, he's very proud of it can you tell !

We also went to the Earlsdon festival but it was rather cold so it was a quick run round the plant stalls, I only bought one iris, and a couple of rides for Noodles. He has got much better on things like slides and had three goes on this hug slide with much glee. Treestump wanted to join in but had to settle for a ball on a elastic keychain thing..

ball and chain boy!
